Consciousness arises out the coordination of two instances of respondent conditioning.?The reinforcer makes the brain event that elicits the operant behavior salient.?I take salience to be an instance of consciousness.?After behavior is practiced, it can be executed without consciousness.?This allows for moving to the next stages because one does not have to have all the stimuli that cause the behavior in consciousness.?This is also part of chunking and overleaning.?At each stage, consciousness is transformed. |
