In Switzerland we are no more as busy as Piaget’s Institute has been. The Institute now is all over the world, thanks to yours energy and interest.
I could collaborate in developing the Intelligence Developmental Scale (a successor of the Swiss Binet-Simon-Kramer-Test). See Hagmann-von Arx, P., Meyer, C S., & Grob, A. (2008). Assessing Intellectual Giftedness with the WISC-IV and the IDS. Journal of Psychology, 216, 172-179. Also: http://www.intelligence-and-development-scales.com/de/ids-5-10-jahre.html
My contribution to this project was, that the logico-mathematical subtest consists in a set of clinical interview’s. the correlation of the subtest with the whole scale is > .80. In this test the function tasks (fish feeding problem) were difficult for the 10-11 years old children. It means that only few entered at the formal operations stage. ?Now, we are preparing version 2 covering all ages till 20. Again, the logico-mathematical tract will contain clinical interviews covering difficult mathematical questions covering the formal operations stage. The exploration study is running, the standardization is planned for next year. The sample will bring some new light in our question. The main goal for me at the time is, that Piaget’s method is still working, nonconformist and creative as Piaget and Piaget’s legacy is and should be.
