While I think developing a science of consciousness will require that we insert a ghost in the machine, and that the best steps that have been taken in this direction so far are mental constructs a la Piaget, I base my case on non-denial of our subjective experiences.?I have not been talking of extending our concepts of matter and energy beyond what we need in order to make progress on a science that includes subjective experience in what it seeks to understand/conceptualize/theorize.?If soul is not necessary for this, and I presume it isn't, it lies beyond what I have been talking about. |
