POSITION:Open Rank, Tenure-Track

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Earned doctorate or ABD in Child or Human Development
and/or Family Studies or closely related field from an accredited institution of higher education. Doctorate is required for tenure and for appointment at the Associate and Full rank. We seek an individual with expertise in first and second language development across the lifespan.
Candidates with a concentration in the early childhood period (zero to
eight) are especially encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will
have: demonstrated potential for effective teaching using a variety of methodologies. Demonstrated ability and interest in working in a multiethnic, multicultural environment and potential for research, scholarly and/or creative activity involving students.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Potential for
success in securing external funding,
participation in relevant professional organizations and university teaching experience. Preference will be given to applicants who have a doctorate at the time of appointment.
DUTIES:Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in the area of Child and
Family Studies. Advise students, participate in university and community service, conduct research, develop and implement learning outcome assessment plans, develop grant proposals, and publish scholarly papers.

SALARY RANGE:Initial salary commensurate with qualifications and
experience.
